Transcript and Records Verification Requests

Official Transcripts

An official transcript is a secure document that shows a student’s full academic history, including completed courses, grades or mastery, and certificates or degrees received. It includes the institution’s official seal, is electronically verified, and sent securely to ensure authenticity.

Official transcripts are $10.00 and are usually required for college admissions, transferring credits, or applying for professional licenses. They are issued through the Student Records office and sent securely through Parchment

Unofficial Transcripts

An unofficial transcript shows the same academic history as an official transcript. It is not electronically verified or secured, so it’s used for more unofficial purposes. For example, when an employer or sponsor needs a quick verification of completed courses.

How To Order

Unofficial transcripts are FREE. Students can find their unofficial transcripts in the online student portal. After logging in, go to the “Reports” section where unofficial transcripts and other verifications can be reviewed and printed.

Records Verification Requests

OTECH follows the policies outlined in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Any request for student information that is not considered directory information requires a signed release form from the student. This form can be found here or in the Student Records office.

Students can request:

  • Enrollment Verification
  • Never Been Enrolled Verification
  • Certificate Reprints
  • Unofficial Transcripts
  • Other types of student records
Self-Service Options for Current Students

Current students may also access common verification reports directly in the online student portal. After logging in, go to the “Reports” section to view and print items such as:

  • Program enrollment
  • Class schedules
  • Unofficial transcripts
  • Progress reports
  • Completion evaluations.
Third Parties

Third-party verification requests are made by someone other than the student, such as an employer or licensing board, to confirm a student’s enrollment, academic progress, or program completion.

Ogden-Weber Technical College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide third-party verifications. Third parties may visit degreeverify.org to submit requests. Fees may apply.

Students do not use this service for their own records. If you are a current student, please refer to the instructions above to request or access your verifications.
