Designs how users interact with apps or websites, blending creative design with coding skills.
The Software Development program offers students the opportunity to learn the languages and tools needed to start a career as a Software Developer. Students will learn code documenting, testing, and debugging to create and maintain software applications. Languages and technologies taught will cover the spectrum, from the front-end user interface to the back-end server, both desktop and mobile. Students will learn technologies and skills like Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript, User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX), Application Programming Interfaces (API), Developer Operations (DevOps), and Cloud Computing.

David came to OTECH from the Aerospace industry with years of programming experience. He has been programming since he was 11. He studied computer science at Weber State University and joined the Ogden-Weber Technical College in 2012. His experience in a wide range of programming skills, from embedded solutions to point of sale systems, makes him keenly aware of the challenges our new students face when beginning their careers.
