OTECH’s Apprenticeship programs combine paid, on‑the‑job training with required classroom and lab instruction.
The Electrical Apprenticeship and Plumbing Apprenticeship programs are for working electrician and plumber apprentices. These programs provide the required classroom and lab instruction while apprentices receive on-the-job training through their employers. Employers can sponsor their employees through the program and may be eligible for Custom Fit funding to offset the costs.
Custom Fit is a legislative program that returns a portion of a company’s tax dollars back to them by reimbursing training costs. The Custom Fit department at OTECH assists Weber County for-profit businesses in accessing these funds. Up to 40% of training costs may be reimbursed.
