We offer a variety of scholarships to help make school more affordable—so you can focus on learning.
Applying for scholarships can be easy and rewarding. Follow these two steps to increase your chances of receiving financial aid.
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is essential for receiving a scholarship. It is required for most state-funded scholarships and helps demonstrate your financial need. Completing the FAFSA can also open the door to other scholarship opportunities.
Should I fill it out even if I don’t think I’ll qualify for federal financial aid?
Yes! Not every scholarship is need-based, but many require that students explore federal funding possibilities first. It also helps us determine other financial aid options for you.
This application puts you in line to be considered for multiple OTECH scholarships. Fill out one application and we’ll find the best scholarship fit for you.
While the application is designed to be quick and easy, take the time to answer questions thoughtfully. This is your chance to share any challenges you’re facing and help us understand your needs.
Everything you need to know about scholarships
To keep your scholarship funding, you must keep Satisfactory Academic Performance (SAP).
Adult Scholarship 80% SAP
Students need to complete 80% of credits taken.
All Other Scholarships 67% SAP
Students need to complete 67% of credits taken.
Equation: (number of credits completed ÷ number of credits attempted = academic performance)
4 credits completed ÷ 6 credits taken = 67%
7 credits completed ÷ 12 credits taken = 58%
At OTECH, 100% on-time completion means:
Part-time students – Must complete 1 credit every 2 weeks.
Full-time students – Must complete 1 credit every week.
The Financial Aid and Scholarship team can help you to find other possible ways to help pay for school.
A scholarship given to all graduating high school seniors that covers tuition for all courses started after high school graduation through the end of August.
Our donors love hearing how their support changes students’ lives. Sharing your stories shows them the difference they make for individuals and families and inspires them to keep funding scholarships for our students.
We can help with that. Just contact a member of our Financial Aid and Scholarship team and they will walk you through the process.
If you apply for and receive a scholarship, the OTECH Financial Aid team will send you an award letter in an email. This letter shows how much money you can receive and how it will be given to you.
Please contact the Financial Aid and Scholarship team for answers to additional questions.
Before classes begin, we’ll let you know what your scholarship can cover and share information about other financial aid that you may be eligible for. To get your scholarship before classes start, be sure to send all needed information to the Financial Aid office.
