The first time you log into your account, you will be asked to set up two forms of verification: your personal phone number and personal email address. This will help you reset your student email password in the future.
Enter your mobile number and select the option to “Receive a code” via text or “Call me” to receive a phone call. Click “Next”.
After receiving the verification code via text or phone call, enter the code and click “Next”. A message will appear on screen confirming that your phone number has been registered successfully. Click “Next”.
Enter a personal email address. Click “Next”.
After receiving the verification code via your email, enter the code and click “Next”. A message will appear on screen confirming that you successfully set up your security info. Click “Done”.
You will be asked to verify/update this information every 6 months, to keep your account safe.
Please note that these steps will only apply if you have followed the First-Time login instructions above and set up a recovery email and phone number. If you have not done so and do not know your password, please contact the IT Help Desk. Instructions for doing so are provided below.
If you cannot reset your password by following the steps above or are experiencing other issues related to your account, please contact us by emailing HelpDesk@otech.freshservice.com.
Go to office.com. Click Sign in.
Enter your email address and click “Next”. On the password page, select “Forgot my password.”
You need to verify your identity using both your recovery email and your phone to reset your password.
Follow the prompts to send the verification codes.
After confirming your identity, you will be asked to enter and confirm a new password.
Once these steps are completed, your password will be reset, and the system will log you in.

Ogden-Weber Technical College provides students with an OTECH email address to enable faculty, staff and administrators to communicate more effectively and efficiently with students. Appropriate use of email is essential to the success of this method for contacting students.
Email is an official mechanism of communication within OTECH.
Students are expected to check their email on a frequent and consistent basis in order to stay current with College-related communications. Students have the responsibility to recognize that certain communications may be time-critical. “I didn’t check my email”, an error in forwarding mail, or email returned to the College with “Mailbox Full” or “User Unknown” are not acceptable excuses for missing official College communications via email.
Students wishing to have email redirected from their official OTECH address to another email address (e.g., @aol.com, @hotmail.com, or some other email account), may do so, but at their own risk. The carrier will provide a mechanism that allows students to forward their official OTECH email to another email address. The OTECH will not be responsible for the handling of email by outside vendors. Having email redirected is the responsibility of the student.
Faculty will determine how electronic forms of communication (e.g., email) will be used in their classes. They can make the assumption that students’ official OTECH email accounts are being accessed, and use email for their communication accordingly.
Electronic mail systems should in no way be regarded as a secure medium for the communication of sensitive or confidential information. Because of the nature and technology of electronic communication, the College can assure neither the privacy of an individual’s use of electronic mail resources nor the confidentiality of particular messages that may be created, transmitted, received, or stored thereby.
If you’re taking a course that uses our Learning Management System, Canvas by Instructure, keep an eye on your student email for an invitation from instructure.com. Inside that email, click on the link to Canvas, and it will take you to the login page.
Your Canvas username and password match the username and password for your student email.
