Learn to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.
Learn the safe, effective use of hand and power tools.
Complete OSHA 10-hour training to gain understanding of workplace safety.
Perform physical tasks on construction sites, including site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled tradespersons.
Build, install, and repair structures using wood. Specialities include framing, finish work, and cabinetry.
Become a skilled worker who focuses on a specific trade within the construction industry.
Oversee all aspects of construction projects, from planning to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the required standards.
Oversee and manage physical aspects of a construction project, including managing subcontractors and ensuring a project goes according to plan.
This program provides students with an introduction to the various disciplines and occupations in the construction industry and prepares them for entry-level positions. Students who complete the program and obtain related employment will have the option to continue training as apprentices in their chosen craft and receive state, national, and industry certifications.

Kris Martin has over 20 years of industry experience, including 15 years in the electrical industry and six years of maintenance experience at OTECH. Kris graduated from the Ogden-Weber Technical College electrical program in 2012. He became a full-time instructor so that he could continue his passion for sharing his knowledge with others. Kris truly enjoys being a part of others’ success and loves seeing the growth in others.
