Program Overview

The Drafting and Design program immerses students in a project-based curriculum focused on one of the following industries: Architecture Design, Structural Design, Civil Design, Interior Design, Manufacturing Design, and Additive Manufacturing Design. Students receive one-on-one aid from experienced instructors, review best practices, and focus on industry standards. All courses are computer-intensive and competency-based.

Rex Thornock

Rex received a drafting certificate from Ogden-Weber Area Vocational Center in 1987. He has nine years of industry experience as a CAD drafter working for Chromalox, Fram Inc., Bourn’s Sensors/Controls, and KHI Engineers prior to receiving the CAD drafting instructor position here at the Ogden-Weber Technical College in 1996. In 2006, he received an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Design Graphics Engineering Technology from Weber State University.
